We met at sunrise for this adventurous hike up a ridge for engagement photos in Maui. Panoramic views of the ocean and the valley down below us greeted us the whole way. We could even hear the river flowing down in the valley.

I broke my ankle at Christmas and thought I was maybe being a little adventurous by planning this hike three months later. Added to that Abbi and Paul love to hike, and were clearly much fitter than me! However they were super fun to hang out with and so sweet. They even traded off with me and carried my camera equipment! Paul and Abbi wanted their engagement session to reflect what they love to do. They are outdoorsy people who love to play volleyball and to hike and explore Maui.

This ridge hike is behind Wailuku in Maui. It is a beautiful way to start the day, let alone a place for engagement photos. There were barely any people around when we started out, but as we were coming down lots of people were headed up. So I suggest starting early for this location.
