The location
Olowalu is a small area between the two sides of the island. It is well known by Maui photographers for the beautiful weddings that take place at Olowalu Plantation House. Wonnie and Jarrod found their private rental house, Hekili Point and decided to have their wedding at their rental.
The ceremony
The couple wanted a simple, low-key wedding with only close family in attendance. This made the most sense for them coming all the way from the East coast. In addition, they knew that they wanted a wedding photographer who could capture intimate moments of their Olowalu wedding. Above all, renting a place to stay that could double as the venue was important to them so they didn’t have to go far to say their vows.
Wonnie wore a beautiful long veil and looked absolutely stunning. I took them away from everyone so the couple could read their own vows to each other in private after the ceremony that their brother officiated. After that, they then had a champagne toast and walked down to the ocean to catch the sunset.
I brought them back to their rental just as the sun went down and they cut the wedding cake with their loved ones.
