Alexis and Andrew have done photo shoots all over the world. They love to visit National Parks and landmarks, whilst in Maui they wanted a shoot at Haleakala National Park.
Haleakala is the dormant volcano on Maui, that has some of the most Stunning Views.
Morning or Evening at Haleakala for your photos?
We chose to shoot at Haleakala at sunset, as it was less early (wink). To getup for sunrise up here, you have to be up SUPER early i.e. 3:00 am. However sunrise is much less crowded, but you DO need to get sunrise parking permit in advance.
Be Prepared for Inclement Weather
Haleakala Weather can be very unique and change by the minute, I have often driven up the mountain through rain and cloud and come through the cloud to full bright sun and blue skies! I’ve done shoots up here in crazy strong winds, and icy rain and other times it has been the most peaceful calm weather. You never know what you’re gonna get!
Different Locations and Backgrounds
I have a three hour minimum for Haleakala shoots as there is so much to see and do. The variety of backgrounds are worth capturing.
Alexis chose to change into this stunning long red dress for the second half of the shoot which created some amazing photos, the red really accentuated the red in the dirt on Haleakala.
